Los Angeles – January 17
Emmett Skyy debuts a new brand of indie rock and soul music at The Hotel Café, Tuesday, February 5th, for a 10:30 pm performance. The Hotel Café is located at 1623 N. Cahuenga in Hollywood. The newest singer/songwriter in the vein of John Mayer and Christ Martin, hypnotizes his audiences with melodies of passion and conviction that encompass a unique sound of rock, soul, indie, folk and a slice of country. Emmett has often been defined as Damien Rice meets Marvin Gaye.
Born and bred in the “red stick city” of Baton Rouge, Emmett Skyy began his singing career at the age of 3 and continued captivating audiences nationally, while performing in church choirs, singing groups, talent shows and touring with a massive two hundred voice ensemble at age 12.
Skyy has worked with some of music’s most talented and successful producers such as Grammy nominated platinum producer Derek “DOA” Allen, (Tyrese, TLC, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and Smokie Norful “I Need You Now”); Grammy nominated Dove and Stellar award winning producer, songwriter Antonio Neal (The Katinas, Kierra Sheard, Joann Rosario and Darlene McCoy), as well as songwriting/producer Dave Murrant, who oversees sound, music, visual arts and multimedia production at Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA).
Emmett’s extensive repertoire consists of over 100 original compositions ranging from classic rock ballads, to sultry pop up-tempos, influenced by a mixture of blues, country, gospel and pop overtones, all bursting with massive crossover appeal.
Inspired by Marvin Gaye, John Mayer, Chris Martin and Robert Plant, Skyy is an evolving artist and is often compared to Damien Rice and Seal. Skyy is a creative force on a mission to change lives….to put the dreams back into the hearts and minds of those who hear him…..
Emmett’s sell-out riveting performance for the National Academy of the Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) or the Grammy people, sparked performances at Hollywood’s indie rock hot spots, Room 5, Molly Malone’s – up next The Hotel Café, Tuesday, February 5th, 2013, tickets $10.00 at www.hotelcafe.com/tickets, or $15.00 at the door…
